Do you have a habit of doing things for others that they can easily do for themselves? Do you dive in to “fix” things before you are even asked for assistance? Do you feel you need to do things yourself in order for them to be done properly? Do you fear people will cease to need you and will reject you if you stop carrying their load for them? Do you feel that love means doing for others and sacrificing yourself?

Dear Ones, if you think that people will fall on their faces if you do not continually do things for them, you are selling them short and blocking them from their own personal empowerment. You are stunting their growth and their experiences. Further, you are robbing them of the opportunity to demonstrate their unconditional love for you, because you are working on the premise that their love and acceptance is conditional upon you doing things for them. Perpetually rescuing others is a form of control. It supports weakness and victim consciousness.

Encouragement, on the other hand, along with acceptance and allowing, supports faith, authentic power, growth and confidence. Lift others up by letting them know absolutely that you are lovingly there for them should they need you, but you have complete trust that they can handle things and shine and thrive on their own. Lend your help if asked, but stay secure in the fact that the entire universe is there to assist each and every person. The system works the same for every soul on the planet and you are all completely qualified to bloom and grow in your own unique way. ~Archangel Gabriel
